Batley's Horse and Rider Challenge Rules

 

  1. Entry fee is $40.00 per rider/horse combination.
  2. A mount can compete multiple times with different riders and a rider may compete on multiple mounts.
  3. Riders must be prepared for any and all things that may be encountered in and around the course. Horses may be asked to ride thru, over, under, or around obstacles or asked to drag an obstacle. The rider is solely responsible for knowing his/her riding ability as well as the ability of his/her horse.   
  4. Horse and rider equipment is rider’s discretion, but all equipment must be humane. Traditional western saddle with breast collar is encouraged.
  5. Use of spurs and whips are discourage and excessive use of them will result in disqualification.  Jabbing with spurs is not allowed, rolling only.
  6. All entry forms must be accompanied by a signed release form.
  7. Due to limited time, sign up will be on a first come bases. Each rider will be assigned a number when payment and signed waiver are received.  If the event is halted due to inclement weather a full refund will be given to those who had not yet competed, and the winner will be decided based on recorded results.
  8. All applicable fees are due on the day. A $35.00 fee will be added to all returned checks.
  9. Refunds for withdrawal will only be given due to horse/rider injury or illness. Refunds will not be given for those who fail to show when called.
  10. Classes are open to horses (any breed), mules and ponies. No stallions shall be ridden by anyone under 18 years of age.
  11. We reserve the right to refuse an entry at any time due to disrespect of rules, intoxication, unsoundness, inhumane treatment of horse, or any reason a Batley's Horse and Rider Challenge Representative may deem reasonable.
  12. Horse owners/handlers/riders are responsible for care, feed and water of horses while on grounds of Berlin Heights Holiday Park. Designated places to fill water (buckets or trailer) will be provided.
  13. All dogs must remain on leash at all times and you must pick up after them and keep them quiet.
  14. You must pick up after your horse within the confines of the campground, the dry camping and spectator areas.
  15. No alcohol or other intoxicants permitted on the course
